Sushant Singh Rajput
"The strong man is strongest man alone"
As the news of Sushant
Singh Rajput’s suicide circulated, It shocked everyone
with the feeling of remorse that how could a 34 year old young, successful and
prominent bollywood actor who had hands full of wealth, fame and
crores of fans around the world opted this dreadful way to end his life. In
spite of having so many friends in personal life & millions of fans, he was
so alone surrounded with thoughts, facing Depression - a constant state
of sadness or feeling blue. He had been suffering from depression for
about six months. Some medical prescriptions and reports were found
in his room which indicate that he was taking professional help for dealing
with his issues.
The reason of his suicide isn’t known because no suicide note
was discovered. As per the news, some of his friends were with him on the night
of 13th June. But they couldn’t help him either.
Sushant Singh Rajput who
had scored an All India Rank 7 in Delhi College of Engineering
Entrance Examination in 2003, went through the throat cut completion of
Engineering and by doing hard work and managing time he
could secure this prestigious position . He was also a National Olympiad Winner in
Physics & he cleared as many as 11 engineering entrance exams, including
that for the Indian School of Mines. It shows his ability of hard work. He
then pursued Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering (now
Delhi Technological University) but dropped out in the third year of college to
pursue acting & dancing. It clearly shows that he could take strong decisions
for himself.
He joined Shaiyamak Davar's dance classes just because
one of his friends told him that hot girls used to come there, he stated in a
funny interview. It
shows that he was full of life. It was only later that the idea of making a
career in acting came to his mind as some of his friends in the dance class
happened to be interested in acting and were attending Barry
John's
drama classes. Influenced by them, Rajput also joined the acting classes. Here,
he found his passion for acting. Within a few months of joining the dance
class, Rajput was selected as a member of Davar's standard dance troupe. It also shows his determination and hard work
to do excel in each of the fields he chose, be it academic or cultural.
He was happy and shining in the dance and drama
classes and decided to drop out of engineering and devote himself into a
full-time dancer and actor.
To start his journey in Bollywood, Rajput moved to
Mumbai and joined Nadira Babbars Ekjute theatre
group, He had been a part of this group for two and a half years. Then he was
featured in a TV advertisement for Nestle Munch which gave him recognition. As
you all know Bollywood journey is full of struggles and thousands and millions
of people move to Mumbai to fulfill their dreams of being an actor
but how many do actually succeed? We all know about that. But Sushant Singh Rajput was a
struggler as well as an achiever.
He
worked in Television in 2008 to 2011 in ‘Kis Desh me hai Mera Dil’ of Balaji
Telefilms and then Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’ and became famous all over
India. After getting so much of fame in his character and participating in
dance reality shows, he didn’t stop and In October 2011, he decided to
quit ‘Pavitra Rishta’ to pursue a filmmaking course in
abroad. This
shows his ability to move on to another level to achieve more success.
His
Film career started in 2013 with ‘Kai Po che’ which was based on the Chetan
Bhagat’s novel ‘ The three mistakes of my life’ , this
film proved to be a milestone of his carrier. As we all know after
Shahrukh Khan who worked in a television serial named as
‘Fauji’, Irfan khan & Sushant singh Rajput were only successful
actors in Bollywood film Industry who had previously worked in TV
serials. He did such powerful roles in MS Dhoni & Chhichhore
which gave us a social message of not to give up whatever the circumstances may
be because there is so much to life that we haven’t yet seen and we can only
see it if we survive to live another day. What an irony!
We
have lost one hell of a gem. And this loss feels personal. The thing is we are
too careless to talk about mental health because we take it very lightly. Reach
out to people. Don’t take change in someone’s behavior casually because we
don’t know what one is going through. Talk to your children, parents,
relatives, colleagues. Maybe a little chat can save someone’s life. When a
person is depressed, what he actually wants is to give up on the negative
thoughts, people, torture, stress but he ends giving up his own life because we
don’t know what thoughts are eating up his strength to live. I read in a post
that “If suicide ever crosses your mind, just know I would rather listen
to your story than attend your funeral”.
May his soul rest in peace. We have lost a star like so many others lost in the endless sky. You will always be remembered SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT.
Heart touching
